Debugging junk mail

Many a times, the internet can be a major buzzkill - you’ve finally found the document that you desperately need to download, but it’s only open to those who’ve have an account on the website and won’t let you view a full article nor comment on it unless you’ve logged in. We know you don’t like to give away your e-mail IDs, supposedly for verification, but more so for newsletters, advertisements and other spams that deluge your inbox. So to give you a soluiton, we’re featuring some useful tools to dodge these pesky registrations and go on with what you’re looking for without having to give away your e-mail ID.
Bugmenot.com
Well, they certainly got the name right—just when you desperately need to view some of the content off the website, you are forced to log in or register for a new account. But the next time this happens, simply go to www.bugmenot.com, find the login IDs and passwords of the respective site and tell the buggers to bug you not! Using Bugmenot is extremely simple—all you have to do is type the URL of the bugger where it says ‘www.example.com’ and simply wait for the results to come. You get a list of login IDs and choose anyone of them. A useful tool is the success rate below the IDs, and you can vote the ones that worked for you too. This extremely useful tool can also be found as an extension in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox which further simplifies the process— all you’ll have to do then is click the Bugmenot button and the webpage will simply log in to one of the user IDs present.
Auto-fill
Our web browsers are smarter than we think they are. After all, they can even fill out our forms for us. That’s right, once you set up the auto-fill settings in your respective browser and enter your name, it will automatically fill whatever it can in the remainder of the registration form. If your browser does not have an auto-fill option, you can always download the Google Toolbar which even lets you create multiple profiles with different sets of entries. And all that’s left for you to do is click the button on the tool bar and your form will be filled - like magic, eh?
Mailinator
Mailinator is an email service that deletes your messages within a few hours, has no password security, and no option to send emails. Now how would that be useful? Well, if you remember the hundreds of spam emails that you received once you registered on one of those rogue websites, you know that this is what you’re looking for. Mailinator is simply a disposable email address which requires no forms of registration whatsoever. All you need to do is log on to www.mailinator.netand type any username (and they certainly do mean any) to log in to your instant email ID. So the next time you are registering on a website, enter Mailinator, your disposable email ID, instead of your real one. The website will send you your password/ confirmation/verification link for this account to your Mailinator account. Once you verify your account, it’s the last you will be hearing from them.
